Actress, Bimbo Thomas, has opened up about the challenges she faced in the early days of her acting career, where she was often typecast to play certain roles.

In an interview with Saturday Beats, she said, “I was typecast in the early days of my career. People started assigning me the same types of roles, and I thought I was way beyond playing the role of a ghetto girl. So, I started rejecting such roles. To the glory of God, I can now write myself into playing any role. I usually look out for a challenging role with quality storytelling.”

Thomas also stated that she is not only an actress but also a master of ceremonies, businesswoman, and is working towards becoming a filmmaker.

“If it’s in you, it’s in you. Don’t forget that I studied Theatre Arts. I embody it in totality. I compere events, run my business, and you’ve seen me as an actor. But now, I am gearing up to become a filmmaker,” she said.

On why she hasn’t produced her own big budget film, Thomas said, “I am doing studies and research; talking to people who have been there and done that. I don’t just want to test the waters and fail. I am learning all the nitty-gritty, so I can do it right.”
